Abstract

Glen Clova raspberry plants were sprayed on 18 May with various desiccants. Metoxuron (2 or 6 kg/ha) had little effect. Oxadiazon (2 or 6 kg/ha) or sodium monochloracetate + dalapon + MCPA (at 11.8 + 4.0 + 1.2 or 35.4 + 12.0 + 3.6 kg/ha, respectively) each checked the new cane growth too much. Glufosinate at 0.6 kg/ha was slower acting than the standard dinoseb-in-oil but its effect was similar and is promising.
