Abstract

In plantations of the strawberry cv. Cambridge Favourite the number of crowns/unit area was the component most highly correlated with yield. Inflorescences/crown, mean berry weight and berries/inflorescence were not correlated with yield. Post-harvest defoliation, plant vigour, berry development and the possibility of predicting yields from crown counts are discussed.
