Abstract

Immature fruits of the strawberry cultivars ‘Cambridge Favourite’, ‘Crusader’, ‘Redgauntlet’, ‘Talisman’ and ‘Templar’ ripened readily at temperatures of 16 °C to 24 °C. Continuous illumination slightly accelerated ripening but pre-treatment with 0.2% ethylene had no effect. A high humidity was necessary to prevent excessive weight loss.
