Abstract

The prophylactic properties of Bayer 22555 (1,000 p.p.m. a.i.), benomyl (333 p.p.m. and 1,000 p.p.m, a.i.), FUN 52.133 (160 p.p.m. and 320 p.p.m. a.i.). and the insecticide Du Pont 1410 (20 p.p.m. and 80 p.p.m. a.i.) were assessed in a pot experiment using pure culture inoculum of Phytophthora fragariae. Bayer 22555 applied either as a drench or as a dust resulted in a significant decrease in the percentage of infected roots. The effects with and differences between the other chemicals were non-significant.
